Frondosa Forest

FRONDOSA (part of the scientific name for hen of the woods mushroom) FOREST

WORLD DESCRIPTION:

A forest over run by fungal overgrowth. Magic mushrooms and crystals decorate the floor of the environment. Undergrowth is mostly ambient orange and purple. Spore creatures inhabit the surroundings and there is a large mushroom towering over the canopy level (the progenispore). Along with mushrooms and shrubbery, there are alien-like structures and buildings that are hidden among the trees and mist. Toxic and bubbling rivers of muck and syrup are “watering holes” for the creatures of the enchanted forest. Smaller more humanoid residents, called, Mushgari (combining the word mushroom and Agaricus – scientific name for mushroom), make their homes in rock formations, underground and in the trees. Tree and spore nymphs are less common but can be found closer to the progenispore.
